Visiting researchers can send me an email. I will do my best to accomodate you with lab space and funding (if available). Dr. Koji Yatani was an excellent host to me while I was at University of Tokyo and I enjoy being able to pay that forward.
In the HCI lab, I'm passionate about making the world a better place. I focus on studying, designing, and building technology that not only centers human experiences but actually puts people in the driver's seat. My lab culture follows suite by encouraging students to drive the research process. That means:
1. Self-direct your own work
2. Give and receive feedback
3. Identify and minize research risks
4. Enjoy the process, not just outcomes
5. Learn from others and share what you know
My approach to research mentorship has been heavily influenced by Dr. Haoqi Zhang and his DTR research lab. at Northwestern.
